Pianist

Leila began taking classical piano lessons at the age of 4. She pursued her studies under the practical and theoretical curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music, receiving her ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance in December of 2011 (the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree). From an early age, she also relied on her musical ear to pick up melodies she'd hear on the radio or in television scores, improvising complete piano arrangements upon a single listen. She has since combined her formal training with her love for popular styles to showcase a blend of technique, contemporary accessibility, cinematic/neoclassical ebbs-and-flows, and emotional nuance in her playing.

Through the pandemic, she began releasing collections of her improvisational solo-piano meditations (including “Holiday Improvisations” and “Moonlight Improvisations”) - and connecting with her community on a deeper, more collaborative level by creating customized improvs based on their stories of loss, languishing, introspection, hope, and healing. These have culminated in her popular 12-track solo-piano album, “Springtime Improvisations,” which has garnered over 11 million streams and counting (along with major Spotify editorial placements)…and her newest 15-track improvisational record “Retrouvailles” (French for “Reunion”) - created in a single introspective afternoon at the studio.

Leila is available for remote recordings (original compositions and customized arrangements at her home-studio, with Spectrasonics Keyscape), live concerts/residencies, in-studio session work, video shoots, and tours. She can be found performing instrumental music at The Maybourne Hotel and Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills through the summer.

Additionally, Leila offers piano, voice, songwriting, music theory, and artist-development coaching/instruction (both virtual, and in-person LA area). For more information, please click here.

The dedication and persistence Leila used to achieve the ARCT diploma with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) was exemplary. The lessons learned on the road are indeed, difficult and demand perseverance. They definitely helped her build a personal standard for music and as such, have enhanced her efforts in practice, writing, performance.

You’re playing, but I feel you’re singing at the same time. Amazing Leila.
